Blue Dogwood Designs is an online retailer for handpainted needlepoint canvases, established in 2005.  These are custom designs, I am the owner and designer for all canvases.  I am the painter for all canvases – painted here in the USA – no production painters offshore.

Many of the canvases have multi-page stitchguides with full color diagrams and pictures.  Those usually have full thread kits included. 

I came to needlepoint after a walk through many other fiber arts.  It started early with sewing, embroidery, weaving, Navajo weaving, macrame, quilting, knitting, crochet, beading, blackwork then came needlepoint!  I began as a needlepoint stitcher and then became a designer, selling directly to other needlepointers only on this website.

Something so zen about solving the world’s problems in my head while stitching a great design for my home, friends or just for fun. The threads, the stitches, the canvases… even tent basketweave is zen. 

Dogwood trees are my favorite.  I have a thing for blue.  

My Blue Dogwood Designs is a labor of love and a desire to create that zen for others.
